Alfonso L. Poiré represents clients in complex commercial disputes, construction litigation, and contract-related matters throughout California. Al works with businesses of all sizes to resolve private and commercial conflicts efficiently, with a focus on practical outcomes that protect long-term business interests.

Al served for 14 years as General Counsel for a multi-million dollar lumber and hardware retailer, where he managed a wide range of legal issues involving construction law, mechanics’ liens, contract disputes, as well as labor relations. This in-house experience gives him a strong understanding of the legal and operational challenges companies face, particularly in the construction and building materials industries. He has extensive experience advising on both union and non-union labor negotiations, as well as drafting and enforcing complex commercial agreements.

Al’s background also includes serving as an extern to Justice John A. Arguelles of the California Supreme Court, where he gained valuable perspective on appellate litigation and the importance of early dispute resolution. He applies this insight to help clients evaluate risk, control costs, and pursue resolution strategies before disputes escalate.

 In addition to his litigation practice, Al is trained and certified in alternative dispute resolution through the American Arbitration Association, the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, and the National Conflict Resolution Center. He serves on the mediation panel for the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, and frequently assists clients with mediation and arbitration as efficient alternatives to litigation.

 Al is known for his practical, business-minded approach to resolving disputes, particularly in construction, commercial contracts, and complex business litigation.
